GRUMANT

'Grumant' was a Soviet Russian settlement in Svalbard, Norway, abandoned in 1961. "Grumant" is a Pomor toponym traditionally applied to the whole of Svalbard, and may be a corruption of "Greenland," with which this land was confused.
