 | Marilyn Torn by Marilyns death, Gary Soloman left home at the age of 16 to find solace in music. He became a successful musician and songwriter and performed and recorded with many renowned Australian and international musicians including Tom E Lewis, the Freezone, Doug Parkinson, John Paul Young, Johnny Young, Sharin Anderson, Lisa Bade, Colleen Hewitt, The Drifters and others. He was at times musical director for Bo Diddley and Delilah and co-wrote songs with Geoff Bridgford from the Bee Gees. In the late 90s, Gary, as part of the Marie Wilson Band, had two Australian chart hits (Next Time and Wont Keep a Good Girl Down). Gary has performed at venues including Melbourne Concert Hall, Festival Hall, The Melbourne Entertainment Centre, Melbourne International Festival, Moomba Festival, Central Club Hotel, The Palace, The Lilydale International Hotel, and many regional and city clubs/hotels and performing arts venues. He has released four albums and performed on national television shows including The Denise show, Sunrise, Hey Hey Its Saturday and IMT. Through the song Marilyn, Gary hopes to create greater awareness of the devastating impact diabetes can have on children and adolescents in an effort to raise funds for diabetes research. |
