Sri Sri 'Ganapathi Sachchidananda' Swamiji is the Pontiff of
Avadhoota Datta Peetham in
Mysore. Swamiji was born at Mekedatu in southern India on
May 26,
1942. He is considered as an
avatara of Celestial Guru Lord
Dattatreya.
Spiritual Mission
Swamiji has pioneered the reinvention and popularization of "Raagaragini Vidya", an ancient musical tradition that augments Spiritual
Sadhana and cures ailments. Swamiji tours the world,conducting healing concerts and spreading Spirituality. He has installed Datta temples in India, the USA and the West Indies.
Swamiji has composed and rendered over 7000
Bhajans on various deities in Telugu,
Sanskrit, Kannada Tamil, Hindi and English. Swamiji combines his music therapy with
ayurveda,
psychology, gem therapy and
astrology. These Bhajans are very popular among Swamiji's devotees.
Swamiji repeatedly says that in this Kaliyuga, only through Bhajans can one invoke God as ordinary people do not have the ability, patience and skill to perform religious austerities.
Swamiji's messages have captivated the elite and the masses alike with their import. Swamiji delivers his Spiritual message using short stories from the
puranas, and is said to be a
Sadguru.
Ammavodi and S.E.R.V.E Projects
Swamiji has opened an old age home in Hyderabad with the project title named 'Ammavodi'.
He also opened an organization called
S.E.R.V.E (Scientific Research on
Vedas) with headquarters in Hyderbabd. The project's mission is to decipher the scientific content in ancient
vedas.
Vishwam Museum and Bonsai Garden
The latest additions to the Ashram are the "Vishwam" Museum and the Bonsai Garden. The museum hosts articles that Swamiji received as gifts on his tours to different countries. It includes articles such as a ship carved in jade from China, a Dasavatharam bowl from the US, a shivalinga materialized by Swamiji, a mercury ganapati and a mercury shivalinga materialized by Swamiji and much much more. One has to see some of the items to actually believe that such things exist or existed.
The Bonsai Garden is a wonderful collection of bonsai trees in a serene park like atmosphere. People can look around the trees and enjoy nature in this garden.
