(Redirected from G.e.m.a) 'Mumbi' is known as the mother of the gikuyu, embu and meru peoples. Wife to "Kikuyu", ancestor to all the "Agikuyu" people.
She was given to "Gikuyu" by "Ngai"(God) who dwelled on Kirinyaga. They had nine daughters Wanjiru, Wacera, Wambui, Wanjiku, Waithera, Wairimu, Wanjeri, Wangari and Nyambura from whom the nine clans of the Agikuyu descended.
