Japan.
As of
2003, the city has an estimated
population of 121,869 and the
density of 387.12 persons per
km². The total area is 314.81 km².
Fujinomiya is famous for
yakisoba noodles.
Fujinomiya station is the central train station in Fujinomiya city. It is on the Minobu line which connects it to Fuji station on the Tokaido mainline. Fujinomiya city is known as one of the basic starting points for climbing trips to Mt.Fuji. It takes about 1 hour by car from Fujinomiya station to the pre-5th level of Mt.Fuji. Oyamabiraki, an annual festival celebrating the start of the climbing season on Mt.Fuji, is held on July 1st at Fujisan hongu sengen shrine

13th World Scout Jamboree was held August 2-10,
1971 on
Asagiri Heights on the western side of
Mount Fuji, near the town of Fujinomiya.
The city was founded on
June 1,
1942.
