FINANCIAL SECRETARY (HONG KONG)

'Financial Secretary' (), often abbreviated as 'FS', is a position of the Hong Kong Government. The FS assists the Chief Executive (Governor before the transfer of sovereignty) in supervising the policy bureaux as directed by the CE, mostly finance and economy-related, and plays a key role in ensuring harmonisation in policy formulation and implementation. The FS is also responsible for delivering the annual budget at the Legislative Council.
Before 1940, the position was titled 'Colonial Treasurer'.
