 | Air New Zealand Business Class A320 On board the A320 100/200 from NAN to AKL [Fiji to Auckland, New Zealand]. Please note that this is NOT Air New Zealand's Business Premier class, and these seats are only equipped on short hall transtasman and pacific island routes using the A320 aircraft. In-flight entertainment on this aircraft in business class is a DVD player that is handed out with a selection of DVDs to each passenger. In economy there are overhead screens playing new movies. These aircraft, along with the 767's, will be getting upgraded by the end of this year with AVOD (Audio video on demand) installed for your viewing pleasure in both classes I would presume. This will not be the same kind as installed in Air NZ's long haul aircraft due to weight restrictions, but it will be similar. We should be seeing more of these aircraft now that Freedom Air, Air NZ's low cost airline, is going out of operation at the end of March 08. I would imagine that they will just slap on the Air NZ logos for now and send them on their current routes. This flight had exceptional service. Once these aircraft do get upgraded, the trips will be even more enjoyable. The skin of this plane was painted as Freedom air, even though they do not service this route. I asked the flight attendant, and apparently it was painted like this in memorial of the director of Freedom Air who sadly passed away. |
