'Felton' is a town in
Kent County,
Delaware,
United States. It is part of the
Dover, Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 784 at the 2000 census.

population density was 488.2/km² (1,268.1/mi²). There were 312 housing units at an average density of 194.3/km² (504.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 82.53%

There were 297 households out of which 42.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.5% were
married couples living together, 18.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.9% were non-families. 20.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.04.
In the town the population was spread out with 29.3% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 36.9% from 25 to 44, 16.7% from 45 to 64, and 8.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 84.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.2 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $42,589, and the median income for a family was $44,875. Males had a median income of $32,857 versus $24,375 for females. The
per capita income for the town was $17,854. About 9.5% of families and 10.4% of the population were below the
poverty line, including 15.2% of those under age 18 and 13.8% of those age 65 or over.

Schools include
Lake Forest High School as well as Lake Forest North, the elementary school, and Lake Forest Central, the middle school.
