FAIRFIELD, VICTORIA

'Fairfield' is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is shared across the Local Government Areas of the City of Yarra and the City of Darebin.
'Yarra Bend' is a locality in Fairfield.
Fairfield is predominantly residential, with a small north-eastern pocket remaining a light industrial area. It also features a three-storey coffee palace, the Grandview Hotel, built in 1888.
Because it is situated on what many regard as the fringes of Melbourne's popular and much-revived 'inner city', gentrification has been strong, and property prices are high. To the south is the Yarra River and surrounding parkland, and the popular Fairfield Boathouse.
