EXTREME POINTS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM

This is a list of the 'extreme points of the United Kingdom': the points that are farther north, south, east or west than any other location. Traditionally the extent of the island of Great Britain has stretched "from Land's End to John o' Groats" (that is, from the extreme southwest of England to the far northeast of Scotland).
This article assumes that Rockall is included in the United Kingdom, although that claim is not recognised by any international authority and is disputed by some.

Notes about Rockall

Rockall is claimed by several countries, including the UK.
1 If Rockall is not considered part of the UK, Soay, St Kilda, west of the Outer Hebrides, is the westernmost point.
2The village on Hirta, St Kilda was abandoned in 1930, and was until then the westernmost settlement in Scotland. The island now has a military base, and is staffed during the summer months.
3 If Rockall is not considered part of Scotland, Soay, St Kilda, west of the Outer Hebrides, is the westernmost point.
