ENCYCLOPEDIA OF INDO-EUROPEAN CULTURE
The 'Encyclopedia of Indo-European Culture' or 'EIEC', edited by J. P. Mallory and Douglas Q. Adams, was published in 1997 by Fitzroy Dearborn. Mallory did the archaeological articles, while Adams did the linguistic ones. A distinguished ''Who's Who'' of 1990s Indo-Europeanists made contributions as sub-editors.
Some linguists may view it as an one-stop compendium of all matters Indo-European which for the most part brings together articles published previously in learned journals, while it is not very reliable on archaeological details.
While not a polemic, the work in part responds to Lord Renfrew's views on Indo-European origins.
