'Elections in Gambia' gives information on election and election results in Gambia.
Gambia elects on national level a head of state - the president - and a legislature. The president is elected for a five year term by the people. The 'National Assembly' has 53 members, 48 members elected for a five year term and 4 members appointed.
Gambia is a one party dominant state with the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction in power. Opposition parties are allowed, but are widely considered to have no real chance of gaining power.

2007 Legislative Elections

On January 25, 2007 parliamentary elections were held, the results of which will go to constitute the legislature for the next five years. President Yahya Jammeh's Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) party secured 42 out of 48 seats.
