LAL @ SAS Gm. 5 - Kobe Jumper, Duncan Fade, Fisher 0.4 (HQ)
[I would like to thank revgen from clublakers.com for posting the last two minutes of this game. The highlights I took from the clip were screen captured by him from ESPN Classic.] I made this video for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that my favorite play of this entire game was Kobe Bryant's jump shot to put the Lakers up by one point with eleven seconds to play in regulation. That was one hell of a clutch shot. I like it even more than Derek Fisher's 0.4 shot, but it seems to have been forgotten because it was not the game-winning shot. The second reason is that there are no high-quality movies on YouTube of the 0.4 shot by Derek Fisher or the miracle shot by Tim Duncan. Luckily for me, that all changed. My movie made the jump and I think it all looks pretty spectacular. Enjoy. =]
Tim Duncan vs. Derek Fisher. PO 2004
SBC Center. Playoffs del Curso Baloncestístico 2003/2004. Semifinales de la Conferencia Oeste. San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Ángeles Lakers. I LOVE THIS GAME.

Kobe Bryant 22pts vs Spurs 03/04 NBA Playoff Fisher Heroics
Tim Duncan made an impossible shot. Derek Fisher answered with an improbable one. Fisher's remarkable fadeaway jumper at the buzzer gave the Los Angeles Lakers a 74-73 victory over the San Antonio Spurs that may have tilted the NBA's balance of power back in their favor. In a highly anticipated showdown of the last five champions, the Lakers stole the pivotal fifth game of the Western Conference semifinals, taking a 3-2 lead. They are one win from securing the series and dethroning the Spurs, who did the same to them a year ago. However, the Lakers seemed light years from doing that after Duncan made perhaps the greatest shot of his stellar career - a fadeaway 20-footer off the dribble over 7-1 Shaquille O'Neal with 0.4 seconds left that gave the Spurs a 73-72 lead and threw the SBC Center into bedlam. "I couldn't believe it went in," Duncan said. "They played the dribble handoff great. ... I let it go as high as I could, knowing that Shaq was there." "You should have seen Duncan's face when his went in," Lakers forward Karl Malone said. Through a series of false starts and timeouts, the Spurs were blanketing superstars O'Neal and Kobe Bryant. Gary Payton was forced to inbound to Fisher, the only Laker on the floor not ticketed for the Hall of Fame. "Fish was the beneficiary of everybody focusing on Kobe," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. The eight-year veteran came to the pass and in one motion turned and fired a jumper just before the buzzer over Manu Ginobili that splashed through, stunning the Spurs and the sellout crowd of 18,797 into silence. "For all the kids out there possibly watching this game, you dream about that growing up, being in that position and being able to make the shot," Fisher said. "Unfortunate, incredible," Duncan said. "There's not much you can say about it." Although San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said he believed the clock started a click late, replays showed Fisher got off the shot in time. He sprinted off the court but stopped in the runway to watch the shot on a monitor. "I normally have point-four (seconds) to turn and shoot, so I was halfway into my shot as I was catching the ball," said Fisher, who scored eight points and played terrific defense. "That's the cruelest loss I've ever been involved with," said Popovich, whose team is filing a protest about the starting of the clock. Despite blowing a 16-point third-quarter lead and scoring just 12 points in the final period, the Lakers will have a chance to close out the series at home Saturday. Los Angeles could become just the eighth team in NBA history to win a best-of-seven series after losing the first two games. "I don't know how they are going to react. They are a tough team," Payton said. "But they have to come to our place now, down 3-2, and they never had to do that before." "I think the slogan is you win or go home," Duncan said. "We want to win and come home (for Game 7)." Bryant scored 22 points, including a jumper with 11 seconds left that gave the Lakers a 72-71 lead and set the stage for Duncan, who had 21 points and 21 rebounds as he came alive in the fourth quarter. Duncan made two free throws, a banker from the wing and another remarkable shot - a double-pump, straightaway 20-foot bank shot as he allowed O'Neal to fly by, giving San Antonio a 69-68 lead with 2:43 left. Tony Parker, who scored 15 points, added a layup before O'Neal threw in a hook at the 1:56 mark. O'Neal was limited to 11 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams got timely lifts from their "Dev" - Devean George for the Lakers and Devin Brown for the Spurs. George made four 3-pointers and scored 16 points, helping LA build its lead. Brown scored 11 points and played excellent defense on Bryant. George made three 3-pointers and a flying dunk in a 17-4 run that gave the Lakers their largest lead at 59-43 with 4:58 left in the third period. Brown gave the Spurs a spark with a couple of baskets, including a 3-pointer that closed the quarter and cut the deficit to 62-53. "I thought Devin's energy was the turning point," Duncan said. O'Neal's three-point play made it 65-55 before Parker sank a jumper and 3-pointer around a 3-pointer by Hedo Turkoglu to slice it to 65-63 with 7:21 remaining.

Lakers-Spurs 93-91 Game4 PO08[Bryant 28pts vs Duncan 29pts]
SAN ANTONIO, May 27, 2008 (AP) - Kobe Bryant looked back and found himself all alone. All but guaranteed the basket, he went up and slammed the ball with a little extra oomph, just for good measure. One more win, and Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers will be all alone in the Western Conference and on their way to the NBA Finals. The Lakers beat the San Antonio Spurs 93-91 on Tuesday night - surviving a last-second 3-point attempt that would have given the Spurs the win - for a 3-1 lead in the conference finals. "It is a big step for us,'' said Bryant, who led the Lakers with 28 points and 10 rebounds. "Tonight we came out and did a much, much better job to win in this building in this particular game. It's big for us.'' The defending champion Spurs lost at home for the first time this postseason and they face elimination when they play Game 5 in Los Angeles on Thursday. The Lakers were last in the Finals in 2004 when they lost to Detroit in five games. Lamar Odom, who was upset with his Game 3 performance, scored 16 points, eight in the fourth quarter, for Los Angeles, while Pau Gasol had 10 points and 10 rebounds and Vladimir Radmanovic added 11 points. "I just stayed composed. I kept my poise,'' Odom said. "I just stayed tough, told myself it was a long game.'' Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 29 points and 17 rebounds, while reserve Brent Barry had 23 points and his last-second 3-point attempt could have given the Spurs the win. Barry and the Spurs brushed off talk that he was fouled on the play by Lakers guard Derek Fisher. "That's not going to get called in the Western Conference finals,'' Barry said. "Maybe in the regular season. But that call shouldn't be called in the Western Conference finals.'' Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said: "If I was the official I wouldn't have called that a foul.'' Fisher said he "never thought they would blow a whistle.'' "I think we met simultaneously, and there was contact for sure,'' Fisher said. "But I don't think I ran through him.'' The Lakers led all game after opening a 22-8 lead. The Spurs got within 81-79 in the fourth quarter, but the Lakers scored seven straight points. "I told them at the end of the ballgame, their energy was terrific,'' Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "Coming out and responding to a loss and getting a lead ... and playing with that kind of energy, I think, carried us over and we responded every time that they came in, tied the ballgame.'' Tony Parker added 23 points for the Spurs, who tied the game five times. The Spurs shot 40 percent (30-of-75) from the field and the Lakers shot nearly 45 percent (38-of-85). With the Lakers up 93-86 and 50 seconds to play, Gasol missed two free throws. Manu Ginobili, who had struggled all night, hit a 3-pointer to bring the Spurs within four. After a miss by Bryant, Parker scored on a fast break when Odom was called for goaltending, bringing the Spurs within 93-91 with 28 seconds to play. Fisher missed a shot for Los Angeles but the ball went out of bounds and remained in the Lakers' possession with 2 seconds on the shot clock. Bryant missed a jumper and the Spurs had 2.1 seconds left. When Barry's 3 missed, Bryant pumped his fists in the air and the Lakers were headed home in command of the series. "Obviously we're in a hole and it's 3-1,'' Duncan said. "It's one loss and an elimination, but we really feel that if we clean a lot of this stuff up we have an opportunity to get right back in this series.'' The Lakers were up 77-70 heading into the fourth quarter. Barry's 3 brought the Spurs within 77-75 and his running jumper got them to 79-77. Odom's dunk started the 7-0 run, then his layup balanced on the rim before falling in, and he hit a free throw for a three-point play. Bryant stole the ball for a slam to put the Lakers up 88-79 with 3:29 to play. Parker got the Spurs within five, then Odom hit two free throws to put the Lakers back up by seven with just under a minute to play. Los Angeles came out with energy and took advantage of sloppy play by the Spurs to lead by as many as 14 points in the first quarter. The Lakers dominated the offensive glass, racking up 20 second-chance points in the first half off their 11 offensive rebounds. Odom highlighted the Lakers' aggressiveness. Early in the first quarter he missed a shot, then suddenly appeared under the basket to grab the rebound and was fouled, making both free throws. San Antonio was within 28-23 at the end of the opening period. In the second quarter the Lakers got into foul trouble and San Antonio made the most of it at the free throw line. The Spurs were 17-of-17 in the first half as Odom, Fisher and reserves Jordan Farmar and Sasha Vujacic all picked up their third fouls.
