![]() | Dream Yoga Step 1 What is it ? http://www.hidreamers.com When practicing a series of Hatha Yoga poses we breathe, stretch and gather the energy of specific poses. Certain poses are very difficult to hold but gather a lot of energy. Dream Yoga is the ability to hold meditative poses with your mind until you enter the dream state, thereby producing a Lucid Dream Experience. Most people believe lucid dreaming is controlled dreaming. However, the term lucid means awareness, not control. Lucid Dreaming is the state of knowing that we are dreaming during the dream. If you were dreaming that you were reading this, and all of a sudden you realized that you were actually lying in your bed dreaming, this realization is the moment when the dream becomes lucid, the moment when you become aware of the state of consciousness you are in. This awareness is not control because there can be dream control without lucidity, and there can be lucidity without control. The goal of the person who practices lucid dreaming is to become lucid while maintaining control at the same time. A person can have what is known as a semi-lucid dream, then a full lucid dream, to the point of having what is called a high lucid dream. Semi-lucid dreaming: A semi-lucid dream is the state of being in the dream and knowing that you are dreaming, but having no control. This state is very similar to being a puppet in a play. The environment is controlling what is happening. Lucid dreaming: The lucid dream is the state where, in the dream, you know that you are dreaming. You have control of your body and you can direct the whereabouts of the dream environment, such as deciding to walk or fly across the street. High lucid dreaming: A high lucid dream is when you have control but also carry out any intention you wish, such as healing another or meeting a teacher. High lucidity includes some type of event that would have a higher purpose or be considered amazing if it occurred in the waking state. |
