Game Programming Project, Draft 1
This is the first draft of the game programming course project. What you can see here is a fighter ship fighting against alien ships. The ships are from free 3D web sites. I draw the portal-like ring. Right now, I have a basic DX initialisation with D3D, input and 3D sound, basic collision detection, a spring 3rd person chase camera, a very basic AI and a little bit of game logic. As you can see the col. det. and AI needs a little more work, and of course no shaders, particle systems and effects neither. Will post later, when looks more shiny :)

NEW Fast Ships -- INCAT Military Platform
Incat craft have universal appeal to the military operator. The vessels offer fast transit, fast turnaround in port, ‎flexibility and versatility in vehicle deck layout, passenger comfort, shallow draft, minimal crewing numbers and ‎reliable and economic operation. Constructed as a base vessel or SeaFrame, in line with the aviation industry's Air ‎Frame (the structure of an aircraft exclusive of its fittings), the craft can be fitted out for numerous purposes including ‎passenger/commercial, freight or military deployment. Incat's 112m SeaFrame will incorporate four 20RK280 MAN ‎B&W engines to provide the 36 megawatts required to power the vessel at speeds ranging from a heavy load ‎economy speed of 20 knots to 50 knots light. The cargo/vehicle/mission deck provides 589 truck lane metres (TLM) ‎plus 50 cars, or 312 cars if required for a full passenger car mode. With optional mezzanine decks even greater car ‎capacity is possible.Vehicle deck headroom is 6.30 metres allowing stowage of Mafi trailers in the centre lanes and, ‎with a beam of 30.20 mtres, heavy road vehicles can easily turn in the bow for quick disembarkation over stern ‎ramps.‎

43: Star Clippers Sailing Ship, Solar-Powered Boat Builder
http://www.TheBoaters.TV Episode 43: Star Clippers to Build Largest Sailing Vessel, High School Student Building Solar-Powered Boat, "First Rate" Nautical Nomenclature First up today: Star Clippers revealed plans earlier this month to build the largest, most expensive sailing vessel ever constructed. The new gargantuan ship will be 518 feet long (157 meters) and 61 feet at the beam with a 20-foot draft. She is set to debut in 2010 and will accommodate 296 guests (double-occupancy) and 140 crewmembers. For more information on Star Clippers' existing ships, visit http://www.StarClippers.com Next up: Meet B.J. Walling, a 17-year-old high school student who is "engineering a better solar electric boat" as part of the Authentic Scientific Research Program. B.J. has spent the last two years researching his project and began building his boat this past summer 2007. His project is supported by donations of supplies from Toms River High School South, Viking Yachts, Harbor Sales, North American Composites, and Cedar Cove Marina. To learn more about B.J.'s project, visit his website at http://www.freewebs.com/rjwalling/index.htm To see B.J.'s collection of boat building videos, visit his YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/SurferChico250 We will update you on B.J.'s progress with his project later in the school year. Finally today, it's time for some Nautical Nomenclature: "First rate," a term used to imply excellence, stems from the naval tradition. From about the 16th century on until steam powered ships took over, British naval ships were rated as to the number of heavy cannons they carried. A ship of 100 or more guns was designated a "First Rate" ship. Second rates carried 90 to 98 guns; Third Rates, 64 to 89 guns; Fourth Rates, 50 to 60 guns. And then on down the line to where 48 to 20 guns were fifth and sixth rated. TheBoaters TV, hosted by Julie Perry, airs 5-7 minute episodes every M, W, & F here on YouTube, and on our vlog at http://www.TheBoaters.TV (where you'll find a higher res version). Also available on iTunes. Thanks for watching!

Also, if you send me a friend request, I'll probably accept, but if you're only adding me as a friend to download the map 'cause you're too lazy to set up a Bungie.net account and do it, remove me from your friends list after you download it (unless you actually want to get together and play some Halo). The moon in streaks the waves illumes Hoarse groans the wind the rigging through; In gentle motion raised assumes The sea a silvery shade with blue; Whilst singing gaily on the poop The pirate Captain, in a group, Sees Europe here, there Asia lies, And Stamboul in the front arise. "Sail on, my swift one! nothing fear; Nor calm, nor storm, nor foeman's force, Shall make thee yield in thy career Or turn thee from thy course. Despite the English cruisers fleet We have full twenty prizes made; And see their flags beneath my feet A hundred nations laid. My treasure is my gallant bark, My only God is liberty; My law is might, the wind my mark, My country is the sea. "There blindly kings fierce wars maintain, For palms of land, when here I hold As mine, whose power no laws restrain, Whate'er the seas infold. Nor is there shore around whate'er, Or banner proud, but of my might Is taught the valorous proofs to bear, And made to feel my right. My treasure is my gallant bark, My only God is liberty; My law is might, the wind my mark, My country is the sea. "Look when a ship our signals ring, Full sail to fly how quick she's veered! For of the sea I am the king, My fury's to be feared; But equally with all I share Whate'er the wealth we take supplies; I only seek the matchless fair, My portion of the prize. My treasure is my gallant bark, My only God is liberty; My law is might, the wind my mark, My country is the sea. "I am condemned to die! -- I laugh; For, if my fates are kindly sped, My doomer from his own ship's staff Perhaps I'll hang instead. And if I fall, why what is life? For lost I gave it then as due, When from slavery's yoke in strife A rover! I withdrew. My treasure is my gallant bark, My only God is liberty; My law is might, the wind my mark, My country is the sea. "My music is the Northwind's roar; The noise when round the cable runs, The bellowings of the Black Sea's shore, And rolling of my guns. And as the thunders loudly sound, And furious the tempests rave, I calmly rest in sleep profound, So rocked upon the wave. My treasure is my gallant bark, My only God is liberty; My law is might, the wind my mark, My country is the sea.
