'Deer Valley Resort' is a luxury
ski resort located near the historic mining town of
Park City, Utah approximately 36 miles (58 km) east of
Salt Lake City. It has 21 chairlifts, 91 runs, and three day lodges. Deer Valley has 1,825 acres of mostly North-facing ski slopes. Lift ticket sales are limited to 6500 each day making it one of the highest uphill capacities in the United States.
Deer Valley Resort opened in December
1981. It was one of the first ski resorts to offer ski valets to carry guests' ski gear from their cars to the slopes, to provide free parking lot shuttles, to have a state-licensed child-care facility on site, to uniform all its employees from kitchen staff to lift attendants, to provide tissues in the lift lines, to refer to customers as “guests” as they would be called at a hotel, to provide complementary ski check even overnight, to offer pagers to parents with children in the Children's Center, so they can be reached at a moment's notice.
