"'Deep'" is a song by Pearl Jam and the tenth track off of their debut album ''Ten''. The music was written by Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament and the lyrics by Eddie Vedder. It is by far the most aggressive song on the album and features the use of bass chords by Jeff Ament at the explosive beginning along with the guitar. Ament plays a twelve string bass on the track.^[1]
Lyrically the song is very dark and features the theme of suicide, one of the many if not common dark themes on the album.
