'Daallo Airlines' is an
airline, headquartered in
Dubai,
United Arab Emirates. It operates scheduled services in
East Africa and the
Middle East with extensions to
France and the
United Kingdom. Its main base is
Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport[1].
History
The airline was established in 1991 and started operations on
20 March 1991 with one
Cessna aircraft. Russian aircraft were largely used in the 1990s, replaced by
Boeing and
Airbus aircraft enabling the launch of direct flights between
Djibouti and
Paris in July 2001 and flights between Djibouti and
London in October
2002.
Daallo Airlines is owned by Mohammed Haji Abdillahi Abusita (Chairman) (50%) and Mohammed Yassin (Chief Executive) (50%) and has 110 employees (at March
2007)

1990s the airline used
Tupolev Tu-154,
Antonov An-24 and
L-410 aircraft. In the last few years these have been replaced by
Boeing 767-200,

Boeing 737-200 and
Airbus A310-300 aircraft, all of which have now been returned to their lessors. The airline was also using a
McDonnell Douglas MD-83 in 2003.
