The Actor Mr Boy falls into Quicksand
The famous Swedish actor Mr Boy falls into a Pit with Quicksand and crying for help! For more information about Mr Boy, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5reXQNQDKzQ Quicksand is a colloid hydrogel consisting of fine granular matter, clay, and salt water. The origin of the name refers to "quick" in the older meaning of "alive" rather than "fast," and is thus similar to the origin of the term quicksilver for mercury. Basically, water circulation underground can focus in an area with just the right mixture of fine sands and other materials such as clay. The water moves up and then down slowly in a convection-like manner throughout a column of sand under optimal conditions, and the sand remains a generally solid mass. This lubricates the sand particles and renders them unable to support any significant weight, since they move around with very little friction, behaving more like a liquid when exposed to stress. Since the water does not usually go all the way up through the sand, the sand above does not appear to move at all, and can support leaves and other small debris, making quicksand difficult to distinguish from the surrounding environment.
Volcano Eruption LIVE!!!
This is not an Exercise; nor a test. Volcano's are serious business as you will see in this video. The person who shot this tape should have been running instead of filming. You are staring down a pyroclastic cloud; flows containing fast-moving currents of hot gas, and rock (collectively known as tefra), which can travel away from the volcano at up to 700 km/h. The gas can reach temperatures of up to 1,000 degrees Celsius. The flows normally hug the ground and travel downhill, or spread laterally under gravity. Their speed depends upon the density of the current, the volcanic output rate, and the gradient of the slope. There are several scenarios which can produce a pyroclastic flow: Fountaining of an eruption column from a plinian eruption (e.g., Mount Vesuvius's destruction of Pompeii, see Pliny the Younger). In such an eruption, the material ejected from the vent heats the surrounding air and the turbulent mixture rises for many kilometres through convection. If the erupted jet is unable to heat the surrounding air sufficiently, there will not be enough convection to carry the plume upwards and it fountains back down the flanks of the volcano. Frothing at the mouth of the vent during degassing of the erupted lava at the mouth. This can lead to the production of a type of igneous rock called ignimbrite. This occurred during the eruption of Mount Katmai in 1912 which produced the largest flows to be generated during recorded history. Gravitational collapse of a lava dome or spine, with subsequent avalanching and flow down a steep slope (e.g. Montserrat's Soufriere Hills volcano). The directional blast (or jet) when part of a volcano explodes or collapses (e.g. the May 18, 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens) This rapidly transforms into a gravity driven current with distance from the volcano. Volumes range from a few hundred cubic meters to more than a thousand cubic kilometers, and the larger ones can travel for hundreds of kilometres although none on that scale have occurred for several hundred thousand years. Most pyroclastic flows are around one to ten cubic kilometres and travel for several kilometres. Flows usually consist of two parts: the basal flow hugs the ground and contains larger, coarse boulders and rock fragments, while an ash plume lofts above it because of the turbulence between the flow and the overlying air, admixes and heats cold atmospheric air causing expansion and convection. While moving, the kinetic energy of the boulders will flatten trees and buildings in their path. The hot gases and high speed make them particularly lethal. For example, the towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum in Italy were famously engulfed by pyroclastic flows in 79 AD with heavy loss of life. A pyroclastic flow killed couple Katia and Maurice Krafft, French volcanologists on Mount Unzen, in Japan, on June 3, 1991, and in June 1997 flows killed twenty people on the Caribbean island of Montserrat. This is the 1991 Mount Unzen eruption which erupted violently, possibly as a result of depressurization of the magma column after a landslide in the crater. This pyroclastic flow reached 4.5 km from the crater and claimed the lives of 43 scientists and journalists, including volcanologists Katia and Maurice Krafft and Harry Glicken.

A NEW RECORD- SIX TORNADOES ON THE GROUND
Your eyes are not deceiving you! There are 6! Yes, 6 tornadoes are on the ground at once in a chorus line near Lazbuddie, Texas. But what you see is not really tornadoes. Its a six-pack of landspouts. They are a slang-term coined by meteorologist Howard B. Bluestein in the early 1980s for a kind of tornado not associated with the mesocyclone of a thunderstorm. The Glossary of Meteorology defines a landspout as "Colloquial expression describing tornadoes occurring with a parent cloud in its growth stage and with its vorticity originating in the boundary layer. The parent cloud does not contain a preexisting midlevel mesocyclone. The landspout was so named because it looks like a weak Florida Keys waterspout over land." Known officially as "dust-tube tornadoes" by the National Weather Service, they form during the growth stage of convective clouds by the ingestion and tightening of boundary layer vorticity by the cumuliform tower's updraft. Landspouts most often occur in drier areas with high-based storms and considerable low-level instability. They generally are smaller and weaker than supercellular tornadoes, though many persist in excess of 15 minutes and some have produced F3 damage. They bear an appearance and generative mechanism highly similar to that of waterspouts, usually taking the form of a translucent and highly laminar helical tube. Like waterspouts, they are also technically considered tornadoes since they are defined by an intensely rotating column of air in contact with both the surface and a cumuliform cloud. Not all landspouts are visible, and many are first sighted as debris swirling at the surface before eventually filling in with condensation and dust.
