AMV Naruto Featuring DJ QUEST
This is the Opposite of Faith Media Demo Presentation. It shows our ability to combine an innovative approach to visuals, sound, video fx, composition and technology. The foundation of the AMV is the Track Phaseshift, an original composition, which has been remixed by adding sounds and effects using a variety of Instruments and devices to sync to the characters movements. Most sounds were performed live as can be seen in the video, but some were later added and/or layered to fill out sound. Performance were included in a split screen format so the viewer would have a sense of how things were set up. It was also used to demonstrated a unique and creative usage of equipment: The Dave Smith Instruments Evolver is the center piece of both set ups. Js set up: KP 3 Kaoss Padd Dave Smith Instruments Evolver Ecler Nuo 4 MIDI Mixer The Koass Pad was used as a MIDI controller and the Evolver was used as a MIDI slave and sound processor DJ Quest Set up 1: Video: Vestax Controller One Turntable Rane Serato Video SL TTM 57 Mixer Video Cuts were done mostly in a separate pass using Serato Video SL Audio 1: Numark CDX CD Turntable Ableton Live TTM 57 Mixer Various samples and sounds that need to be cut in a particular way were burned to CD and the Numark CD was used Audio 2: Dave Smith Instrument Evoler Vestax Controller One Turntable Numark CDX CD Turntable Rane Serato TTM 57 Mixer Ecler Nuo 4 MIDI Mixer Behringer FCB 1010 The Dave Smith Instruments Evolver is the master sequencer and controller in this set up. You can see how it works during the end solo. Its sequencer sends out MIDI notes to control both Turntables-which are slaved via MIDI-changing their pitch which alters the speed of the turntable platter, This process alters the sound of what ever the turntables are playing and creating a melody matching the Evolvers sequence. The audio signal is also processed on a separate chanels which is brought in through the effects loop. The Ecler Nuo 4 and the Behringer FCB 1010 control parameter (MIDI Control Changes) to give Quest additional control options.
TONAL PLEXUS - TPX6s Live Control 1
The new TPX6s ($3109) from H-Pi Instruments has a matrix-style interface for controlling global synthesizer parameters, and a joystick option for controlling global pitch bend. This is a demonstration of those features, although I forgot to demonstrate one of the parameter sets, and the wide variety of settings options is not really shown here in this one example modification of an organ patch. How to control Reason through Rewire within FL Studio
This is how you control Reason parameters through Rewire within FL Studio. These parameters can be anything from ADSR, filters, effects, or level functions all within Reason so you don't have to load post-effects on FL Studio. It took me a while to figure this out on my own seeing that the image-line forums were a bunch of ASSHOLES that were no help to me at all Forgive the horrible vid and sound quality. I had to do this all in one take. I hope someone finds this useful on their sound experiments
Alpha Juno Control
Intervenus demonstrating midi control of the Roland Alpha Juno 2, via 'Alpha Juno Control', a software midi controller for MAC. This is not a performance, or musical showcase. It's a short demonstration of parameter controlling this classic analogue synth via software. I prefer the hands on control of the PG-300, but this is a good alternative. Sequenced via Renoise, including Boss DR-880.
Evolving a Helicopter's Heading Controller
The PID controller of an autonomous helicopter robot is evolved using a genetic algorithm and the fitness is evaluated on the robot itself. Over 30 generations, the control parameters of a PID heading controller of a small indoor helicopter evolve towards more suitable and robust solutions. To evaluate the fitness of each individual, its control parameters are used on the actual flying robot. The helicopter is artificially perturbed by 90° and -90° and the controllers ability to reach and keep the setpoint at 0° determines the fitness.
