New Zealand Chinese Students Caught Stealing
ANCHOR: In New Zealand university students have been caught stealing hundreds of copies of a student magazine, advertising the Chinese Spectacular. Our Auckland Correspondent has more. STORY: Since a group of Chinese tried to bribe a student association, Auckland University has become the centre of attention. Student Association President David Do says they offered money on the condition that the student magazine drops advertisements promoting the Chinese Spectacular, a world class dance and music performance. [David Do, Student Association President]: "When he saw me last Thursday he also towards the end did give some hints that if Craccum decided to pull the ad we might be able to be financially compensated in some way." The association refused the bribe, so the Chinese group organised a heist loading get-away cars with magazines. However, staff caught them in the act. The group admits to taking the magazines for so-called "editing," because the Falun Dafa Association was involved as a host of the show. Some magazines were later returned with a page torn out. [David Do, Student Association President]: "To be honest, I think that is because that's all that they have been told, from the Chinese Government there is a lot of indoctrination a lot of propaganda directed against them, which means that that is all that they know." The student association is seeking a four figure sum from the group, but says it will keep the matter out of court. This is NTD Auckland New Zealand.

Duke University Student Targeted by CCP
CHAN: Now we have an update on Wang Qianyuan, who is a Chinese student at Duke University in North Carolina in the U.S. She has been labeled a traitor by Duke's Chinese Students Association after expressing her support for Tibet at a rally earlier this month. Wang's parents who are living in the mainland have also been targeted. Their home in Qingdao has been ransacked and they have been fired from their jobs. Wang says the Chinese Students Association has had a close relationship with the Chinese embassy for a long time. Law enforcement agencies in the U.S. are now investing the student organization. [Wang Qian Yuan, Duke University Student]: "From the beginning, this organization has been suspicious. It has a history of labeling and sending death threats to people - this kind of thing. Now, the United States police and the FBI are investigating the organization. Their financial reports reveal that they and the Chinese Embassy, the Chinese regime, have a very close relationship." Wang Qianyuan recently hired a lawyer and she says U.S. police are protecting her. She hopes that next week she will be able to go back to class. She said that while some Chinese-Americans are supportive, the majority of Chinese students have deliberately alienated her. [Wang Qian Yuan, Duke University Student]: "They threw feces on my home, robbed and smashed my property. We lost many things. Now everything is chaotic... My school said I was not qualified to be a Chinese person." Some people in China launched a campaign to boycott shopping at the France-based Carrefour supermarket. Wang said the current wave of fanatical nationalism in China is influenced by China's official media, which is very misleading. [Wang Qian Yuan, Duke University Student]: "I think this is very dangerous, national interests and partisan are mixed together. They do that just for their short-term emotional release, but it will ruin their future. That is very, very dangerous."
