CHICOPEE RIVER
The 'Chicopee River' originates in a small village of Palmer, Massachusetts called Three Rivers from the confluence of the Quaboag River, Ware River and Swift River and flows generally west through the town of Ludlow, Massachusetts, and by the northern fringes of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, Massachusetts. After passing Ludlow and Springfield the river bisects the city of Chicopee. The river runs roughly parallel to the Massachusetts Turnpike, for approximately fifteen miles where it joins the Connecticut River at the edge of the city of Chicopee, Massachusetts.
The river includes many falls which have a few hydropower dams, one in Ludlow and another in Chicopee.
