CHESTEN MARCHANT

'Chesten Marchant', who died in 1676 at Gwithian, Cornwall is believed to have been the last monoglot Cornish speaker, as opposed to Dolly Pentreath, who was arguably the last native speaker of traditional Cornish but, unlike Marchant, could also speak English.
