EDT DATE: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2008 WITH COLONEL LOU VOLGER, CHIEF OF FUTURE OPERATIONS, U.S. ARMY NORTH; LIEUTENANT COLONEL JAMES SHORES, CHIEF OF PLANS FOR JOINT TASK FORCE-CIVIL SUPPORT, U.S. MARINE CORPS VIA TELECONFERENCE SUBJECT COL. VOGLER: Yes. Again, I'm Colonel Lou Vogler. I'm the chief of future operations at U.S. Army North. And U.S. Army North again is the Army component of US-NORTHCOM, and we're charged with coordinating the potential federal response in the land domain for any domestic operations or disasters, to include CBRNE -- chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high yield explosive response operations. JTFCS, which Lieutenant Colonel Shores is from, has recently fallen under us as part of our task organization to further unify this kind of response setup. You know, again, for those of you that don't know much about CCMRF, the Consequence Management Response Force is a dedicated CBRNE response force that is trained and ready to respond in the event of a -- some sort of CBRNE incident which would require a federal response in addition to those state and local forces it would reinforce. It's a scalable force. Again, it's designed to come in as part of a federal requirement given the need of a local or state agency that could not meet some gap in capabilities. And one of -- the advent of CBRNE response force -- what kind of makes it new, although its been around for a couple of years, is that it soon will be assigned directly to US-NORTHCOM, kind of enhancing our ability to ensure its readiness and shorten the lines of command, should we have to utilize this force. (Inaudible) -- any questions, that's all I have. MODERATOR: Okay. And Colonel Shores, did you have any remarks to start us out? LT. COL. SHORES: ...command and control aspects, and that's what JTFCS is -- proudly under the AR- NORTH joint force land component commander, exercising out here with our new 9.1 CCMRF assigned October 1st to certify them in accordance with General Renuart's guidance.
Laser Defense
THEL (Tactical High Energy Laser) For years, chemical-powered lasers were seen as the only viable alternative for weapons-strength ray guns. The most promising of those systems, the Tactical High Energy Laser, successfully shot down dozens of rockets and mortars. (this video shows it in action.) But generating the THEL's megawatts of laser power required hundreds of gallons of toxic chemicals — ethylene, nitrogen trifluoride. The weapons grew bulky (the small-scale version was only supposed to be kept in a mere right cargo containers, each 40 feet long). Worse, after a few shots, the lasers would have to be resupplied with a fresh batch of reactants. The logistics of hauling those toxins either through the air or across a battlefield made generals shiver. So, ultimately, interest swung back to solid state systems, like Yamamoto's, and, to a lesser extent, free electron lasers. http://www.defensetech.org/

1980-1988: Iran's "Sacred Defense" -- Part I
1980-1988: Iran's "Sacred Defense" Against Foreign Invasion & Occupation This is an audiovisual documentary in Persian. It is about the 4000-year-old nation known as Iran ("Land of Aryans"). Iran was formed around 4,000 years ago when the Aryan tribes of West & Central Asia united and created Iran "IR=AArya+AAn=place or Land"). Since the Capital of the union was located at Persepolis (in Persus [Pars] territory -- near the city of Shiraz), the Greek, Romans, and later Europeans continued to call "Iran" erroneously as "Persia" - even though Persia (Pars) is a part of Iran. Iran is pronounced as "EA-RUN." IT IS NOT "I-RAN." ITS PEOPLE ARE CALLED "EA-RUNI-ANS" THEY ARE NOT "I-RAY-NIANS." In 1936, Iran requested that all foreign nations call it "Iran" instead of "Persia." During 1980-1988, the people of Iran mounted what is known today as their "Sacred Defense" against outright foreign military aggression against their nation. Even though at the time and on the surface it appeared that the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was acting alone in conducting his eight-year war of aggression against Iran, recently declassified official documents obyained under FOIA (US-NSDD # 99, #114) show that US & UK were actively supporting Saddam in his war of aggression against Iran. US & UK supplied Saddam with technical support for his development of weapons of mass destruction and other materiel & strategic assistance such as providing his military with satellite data on exact locations of Iranian defenders. In 1982-1983 when the Iranian people began to take the initiative, destroy the advancing units of Saddam's military, and push the Iraqi Army units out of the sizeable Iranian territories they had captured & occupied, US & UK's assistance to Saddam drastically increased. On December 20, 1983, as Iraqi forces were losing grounds to Iranian defenders, Donald Rumsfeld, then special envoy of President Ronald Reagan traveled to Baghdad & met with Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. In a desperate move, Saddam began to use chemical weapons of mass destruction against advancing Iranians & Iranian cities. When Iran attempted to present credible evidence of Saddam's use of chemical weapons against its people and forces to the United Nations, the governments of US & UK blocked Iran's efforts to present its evidence at the UN and deceptively took the position that Iran did not have sufficient evidence to show that Saddam was committing such atrocities. Evidence now shows that US & UK knew well that Saddam was developing chemical weapons of mass destruction since they had sold him the technical know-hows, raw material, & equipment. US & UK also knew well that he had used them. During the 1980-1988 Sacred Defense period, Iranians were subjected to numerous international embargos initiated & maintained mostly by the United States & United Kingdom while Saddam enjoyed financial & military support of US, UK, and more than a dozen other nations. Iran, in its 1980-1988 "Sacred Defense" period had to develop and rely on its own military industry. As a result of their "Sacred Defense" campaign, the Iranian forces, while relying only on their own arms industry & those bought on the black market at exorbitant prices, not only destroyed and/or expelled the invaders out of their sacred land but later began to push into Iraq and captured significant Iraqi territory. After having achieved victory over Saddam's invading army based on the relentless and fierce will of its defenders, Iran pulled out of the captured Iraqi territory on moral grounds & declared a cease fire. To obtain a fascinating window through which more of Iran can be seen without the misinformation & deception of the Zionist-dominated mass media, search google for your local "Iran TV satellite" installing company.
