 | UFO @ The Cheese and Grain..Frome Zummerzet The Cheese and Grain. Not the best venue I've been to especially for the sound and tonight was no exception. Half of the band arrived on time for the gig but Phil and Pete got lost (in a pub?) en route and the band didn't go on until after 2200hrs. This after lots of slow hand claps and "get on with its". When the band eventually hit the stage it was obvious Phil and Pete were away with the fairies or well pissed up. Phil couldn't remember the words and looked like he was about to collapse half the time. I'm assuming there was no soundcheck as the sound was worse than normal for the venue. All in all this wasn't a very good gig in my opinion. Having seen UFO loads of times with different lineups in the past this has to rank as the worst. In comparison their gig at The Old Fire Station in Bournemouth a few months later was brilliant with Phil in particular in fine voice and remembering the words too!! |
