CHATTANOOGA TIMES FREE PRESS

(Redirected from Chattanooga Times)

The '''Chattanooga Times Free Press''' is a daily broadsheet newspaper published in Chattanooga, Tennessee by Tom Griscom and is distributed in the metro Chattanooga region. It is one of Tennessee's major newspapers.
The paper was formed in the late 1990s following the merger of the '''Chattanooga Times''' and the '''Chattanooga Free Press'''. The ''Times'' was once owned by Adolph Ochs, who also founded ''The New York Times''. The merged newspaper is owned by WEHCO Media, Inc.
The ''Times Free Press'' is unusual among American newspapers in that it runs two editorial pages, one leaning liberal, the other leaning conservative, reflecting the editorial leanings of the previous standalone ''Times'' and ''Free Press''.

In January of 2007, The Times Free Press retained the services of Coptix and launched a redesign of the newspaper website.[1] The newspaper and website were featured on CBS Sunday Morning as an example of how daily newspapers are responding to a change in readership from the print to the web.[2]
