The 'Chartreuse Mountains' () is a
mountain range in eastern
France, stretching to the north from the city of
Grenoble to the
lac du Bourget. It is part of the
French Prealps.

Geology

A Double Arch, at 32m the longest span in the Alps
The lithology is dominated by
limestone, and several hundred kilometres of
cave passages lie beneath the hills, including the world-famous 60 km long Dent de Crolles system.
