Vote YES! for the protection of your property rights. Charter Amendment #5 puts a stop to repeated attempts by cities to annex properties against the will of property owners. A 7-year moratorium would be used to halt repetitive annexation attempts that many feel border on harassment. Charter Amendment #6 ends wasteful and frivolous spending of tax dollars by cities seeking to annex properties. Charter Amendment #7 further protects property owners from annexation without their consent. These amendments have been placed on the ballot for your consideration by the Pinellas County Charter Review Commission. The charter review commission is a 13-member independent citizen board charged with reviewing your charter and recommending amendments to improve the efficient delivery of services and quality of life for all residents in Pinellas County.
