CENTURY (BOOK)

Originally published in 1999 by Phaidon Press, '''Century''' is a coffee table book that is equal parts photography and history. It was both conceived and edited by Bruce Bernard, a picture editor for ''The Sunday Times Magazine''. (Besides working for ''The Times,'' Bernard is also the co-author of a number of art books and his work has been featured at the Victoria and Albert Museum.) In the words of the author, ''Century'' is "an attempt to outline the history of the twentieth century as the camera has seen it."
