'Centrolew' was a political coalition of several Polish parties (
PSL Wyzwolenie,
PSL Piast,
Narodowa Partia Robotnicza,
PPS,
Stronnictwo Chłopskie and
Polskie Stronnictwo Chrześcijańskiej Demokracji) after the
Polish legislative election, 1928 against the ''
sanacja'' and
Józef Piłsudski.
To counter Centrolew, ''sanacja'' organized the
Polish legislative election, 1930, and Centrolew politicians were subject to repressions before it (most famously, imprisonment in the
Brest Fortress, and later the
Brest trial). The Centrolew was defeated in the elections and broke up as the coalition.
