1836: Texas
Santa Anna comes to power and causes revolts all across Mexico because of his attempt to centralize Mexico. The revolt with the greatest consequences is the one in the far-away province of Coahuila... y Texas! I'm quiet because I'm in the echo-y Caracol museum...
Hartsfield-Jackson CONRAC Virtual Tour
More than two million passengers complete rental car transactions each year at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. In order to meet current needs and anticipated demands for rental vehicles, Hartsfield-Jackson is building a state-of-the-art Consolidated Rental Car (CONRAC) facility. When it opens in November 2009 CONRAC will house all Airport rental car companies and their associated operations, including customer service, administrative offices, ready/return parking, fueling and maintenance facilities. The 67.5 acre CONRAC facility is located across Interstate 85 from the Airport and will connect to the existing passenger terminals via an automated people mover (APM) train system. The APM can move more than 10,000 passengers an hour to and from the passenger terminal along the 1.6 mile long elevated guideway. The trip between the terminal and the CONRAC APM station will be approximately five minutes. A stop at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) will provide direct passenger access to the facility during conventions and events. By centralizing all rental car operations adjacent to the Airport, CONRAC will eliminate the need for rental agency shuttle buses and dramatically reduce the number of rental cars on terminal roadways. This should help minimize the Airports carbon footprint by improving overall traffic flow around the passenger terminal. CONRAC is one of several projects included in Hartsfield-Jacksons Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The 10-year, currently $6-plus billion program supports the Airports overall mission by planning, designing, building and maintaining facilities to meet projected growth in domestic and international travel. CIP projects reduce flight delays, increase airfield and terminal capacity, enhance overall customer service, and substantially contribute to Georgias economic development.
HP-99 HORIZONTAL BAND SAWMILL
Take your milling operation to a new level of production with this revolutionary hydraulic band sawmill! Details: 1. Band saw blade tension control The band saw blade is tensioned by a hydraulic cylinder for constant controlled tension at all times. 2. Size of band saw blades The construction of this machine allows the use of either 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" wide band saw blades, which depends on the sawing application. To change the width of the band blade, you just need to change to a wider or narrower roller guide. 3. Variable Feed Rate The saw head is driven by a high torgue hydraulic motor providing a smooth variable feed rate for all types of sawing conditions and a fast saw head return. 4. Saw Head Motor The band saw blade is driven by a 30 HP electric motor with enough torgue for any sawing job. 5. Blad Tension Gauge Blade tension gauge shows the correct tension for different size hands. 6. Extra Long Rigid Saw Bed Rigid constructed saw bed frame provides solid support for the heaviest logs. Log clamping. log turner, and the log tapers are fully hydraulic. 7. Coolant Applicator Coolant is used for lubricating and cooling the band, and also stopping build up on the band and band wheels. The coolant applicator only applies coolant when the saw is cutting, when the saw head is returning the fluid shuts off automatically. 8. Centralize Hydraulic Control Station All hydraulic controls are conveniently centralized on the machine, within easy reach of the operator. These controls include saw head travel, log tapers, log turner, and the log loader. 9. Log Loader The solid constructed log loader is hydraulically operated to load the log onto the saw mill. The control for the log loader is conveniently located at the control station. 10. Saw Head Functions The head is raised and lowered by a hydraulic motor, controlled by an encoder for accurate positioning of the head. There are five set points that can be programmed at any time for the thicknesses you are cutting through the digital position control. Light weight hand wheels are dynamically balanced for high performance sawing, with fitted rubber belts for accurate blade tracking. 11. Saw Band Guide Wheels Guide wheels on top of the band ensure accurate cuts, with minimum friction and increased band life. The adjustable roller guide arm is held into place by a linear bearing block, the movement of the arm is controlled by a hydraulic cylinder. 12. Hydraulic Power Unit The hydraulic power unit consists of high quality components, high volume for smooth operation and long service life. A cooler on the hydraulic unit ensures constant temperature throughout the entire hydraulic circuit 13. Digital Position Controller Provides extremely accurate saw head position control and can be set at any position desired. Preset keys can be set to your most common used sets 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 8/4, 4 or 6 inches. 14. Moveable Control Panel The moveable control panel allows the operator to operate the machine from his most desired location. manufacturer: Blue Steel Machinery Company 86-10, Shen Ching Road, Ching Shui, Taiwan 436 Tel:+886-4-2620-1608 Fax:+886-4-2620-0289 E-mail:bsm168@ms62.hinet.net Website:www.highpointinc.com
Hartsfield-Jackson CONRAC Construction 2008

Bangkok "IT City"
OK, after wandering around (an exercise in futility) looking to find a replacement set of headphones for my iPod I began to realize that Bangkok likes to centralize/aggregate merchants of a particular type (e.g. computers, audio/video components). No you CANNOT find this stuff at Siam Paragon contrary to what random people on the street will usually refer you to -- which is a lot of clothing stores mostly. Eventually I figured out there is this place called "IT City" which is located on Phetchaburi Road between Phaya Thai and Phetchaburi 22. If you take the BTS SkyTrain to Rachathewi, head north, take a left on Phetchaburi... keep going and you can't miss it. It is several levels of computer stores and electronics stores and component vendors and etc all side by side. http://maps.google.com/maps/mm?ie=UTF8&hl=en&ll=13.751412,100.535803&spn=0.005502,0.007049&z=17
