Bio-Botry Suspension and Wound Heal
Since the late 60's, propagator's, greenhouse growers have been fighting the war. Many practices have been established and implemented in the greenhouse vegetable industry, but year after year we continue to fight back at Gray mould or Botrytis cinerea. Botrytis is one of the most commonly occurring disease-causing fungus in greenhouse crops. Management of Botrytis or Gray mould depends heavily on sanitation and good management of the growing climate Poor management of temperatures and relative humidity such that dewpoint and air circulation within the crop canopy, create the right conditions for germinating Botrytis spores. It is likely under these greenhouse conditions, the majority of Botrytis infections originate from growing mycelia as well as spores. Infections take place via spores (conidia) and will germinate a few hours. Students say 'I do' to wedding class
(NAT -- Maggie) "Today we're talking about Ch. 14, floral décor." TALK OF FLOWERS, RINGS, PHOTOGRAPHY...THAT'S NO SURPRISE IN THIS CLASS. (Bite -- Rasheena) "I'm learning so much about the wedding industry." AT GEORGE MASON UNIVERISTY IN FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, STUDENTS LIKE WILSON ARE LEARNING HOW TO BECOME WEDDING PLANNERS. (NAT -- Floral guy) "This is a good floral to hold up in bouquets." TODAY'S GUEST SPEAKER - A FLORAL DESIGNER. (NAT -- Floral guy) "I'm going to force a little more pink by adding some Calas" (Maggie) "I found that students consistently in event management wanted to do planning for weddings as their project. We teach event management. We do it on the macro level. But that was more a micro level. So I designed the course because of that." GEORGE MASON IS THE FIRST FOUR-YEAR INSTITUTION TO OFFER A WEDDING PLANNING COURSE FOR ACADEMIC CREDIT...AND STUDENTS SAY IT'S NOT AN EASY ONE. (Brandi -- student) It's the same as taking an economic class where you have to know all of the numbers and details of that class. You have to put in a lot of effort. (Brandi -- student) The price of a wedding is around $30K, but it's gone up from $15K. It's dramatically increased in the last 10 years. WITH BIGGER BUDGETS FOR TODAY'S WEDDINGS... STUDENTS ARE LEARNING MORE ABOUT ELABORATE DÉCOR. (floral guy) "If you spotlight your arrangement or pinspot it, it makes your arrangements look a lot better." BUT ELABORATE OR NOT, DANIELS SAYS THAT IN AN AGE OF INCREASING GLOBALISM...IT'S IMPORTANT TO TEACH RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL WEDDING TRADITIONS. (NAT-Daniels) "If you have a Jewish ceremony, what is the canopy that we're going to use? Chuppah, right, it was on the mid-term!" (Daniels) "Each bride and groom, they come to the table with different backgrounds and ideas and they may or may not want to play off their culture. I think that's one of the most important things that we do is we take the culture, we take the religion into consideration, but first and foremost, we get to know the clients and what makes them tick." AND STUDENTS SAY THERE'S NO HARM IN TAKING A CLASS THAT HIGHLIGHTS A CAREER OPTION THAT MOST ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS IGNORE. I think it should be offered everywhere, even at community colleges and universities. It's just another elective, but it's also informative. I've taken western civ and biology, but I don't think that applies. this is also giving people another alternative in the job market that they may not know about, that they may not know they have a creative niche in wedding planning. AND IF STUDENTS DON'T MAKE THIS A CAREER, THE CLASS CAN EASILY PLANT A SEED FOR THE FUTURE. Yes! Looking at the stuff today, I wanted to keep that bridal bouquet. I'm taking this home! FOR UPI.COM, I'M KRISTIN VOLK.
Krematorium 2 at Auschwitz-Birkenau
CHECK OUT MY CHANNEL FOR MANY MORE ORIGINAL HOLOCAUST RELATED FILMS This is the remains of Krematorium 2 at Auschwitz-Birkenau. This gas chamber killed around half a million people in 1943-1944 reaching a peak during the deportation of people from Hungary in May - June 1944. More people were killed at this spot than anywhere else on the globe. Unfortunately as can be seen it is not protected against the elements although suggestions have been made to put a canopy or something similar over it. Gas chambers two and three were made in a mirror image of each other at the head of the rail line which was laid to bring people due to be murdered directly to the point of death. Previously they had been unloaded at a siding around 2.5km from here and brought to this point either on foot or in lorries. Prior to the construction of the gas chambers, people had been murdered in two houses located just outside the barbed wire fence called the red house and the white house. I have placed many films of the holocaust on this site including interviews with witnesses. Those interested should see also the films on Treblinka, Belzec, Sobibor, Chelmno nad Ner and Majdanek. These camps are much less known that Auschwitz although they account for nearly twice as many Jewish deaths. You can find these films by clicking on user's films (Od użytkownika) or by entering the name of these camps in the search engine. During the second world war some six million Jewish people were murdered by the Nazis by gassing, shooting, starvation, deliberate spreading of disease or by other means. Around half of these victims were killed, mainly at these six camps in Poland. My channel on you tube : http://www.youtube.com/alanheath is one of the most prolific from Poland, although unfortunately not the most visited. With almost one film per day, one may be forgiven for thinking I do nothing else but I do have a day job as well. I have produced more than 400 original films, most in English but also in Polish, French, Italian, Spanish and the occassional hint of German and Hebrew. My big interest in life is travel and history but I have also placed films on other subjects Please feel free to ask questions in the public area or to comment on things you disagree with. Sometimes there are mistakes because I speak without preparation. If I see the mistakes myself, I make this clear in the text. Please also leave a star rating! There are a number of films here on the packaging industry. This is because I am the publisher of Central and Eastern European Packaging -- http://www.ceepackaging.com - the international platform for the packaging industry in this region focussing on the latest innovations, trends, design, branding, legislation and environmental issues with in-depth profiles of major industry achievers. Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine! Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region and the sites http://www.ceepackaging.com/articles/events/ and http://www.ceepackaging.com/articles/agenda/ give a pretty good idea where future films are going to come from! Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film! In 1997 I founded Polish Business News http://www.pbn.com.pl .There are a number of business related films here and I intend to do many more on CRM (customer relations management). My blog can be found via http://www.ceepackaging.com and http://www.pbn.com.pl and contains background information and more details of many of my films. This information is in English. I have also a second blog on the site http://www.navigeo.net/blog/alan-heath-blog . This site has been recently started by a friend and I think it will soon be one of the leading travel sites in Poland, if not Central Europe. It contains additional information about some of the places and events shown in these films but most of that is in Polish.
