VES AUTOFOCUS: AUTOFOCUSING BIOPTIC FOR LOW VISION
The award-winning* Ocutech VES- AutoFocus is the world's only self-focusing bioptic telescope. The VES- AutoFocus provides the most natural magnified vision possible because wherever you look, the image will be clear immediately, just like natural vision. It removes the most inconvenient parts of using a bioptic telescope- focusing, and the most fatiguing- having to hold still to keep the image clear. Not only is it great for distance activities, the VES- AutoFocus is the first low vision aid to provide comfortable, convenient, natural magnified vision at normal near distances, to play cards, musical instruments, use the computer and many other activities. This naturally clear magnification allows the visually impaired to work much more efficiently and in a much more relaxed and comfortable posture. * Winner of the 1999 Winston Gordon Award presented by the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
A Big Decision.
...and life goes on.
Pre-Moving Day: In Memory of John and Peg Archer
Pre-MOVING DAY 2008!! After 49 years the Archer's had to give up the family apartment when the matriarch of our family, Margarette (Peg) Archer passed away. We moved into the building in 1959, when, at age thirty, our father, John Archer, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and started using a wheelchair. Because of his inability to get around, their friends would come over on Friday nights, and they were known as the "Friday Nighters". John was a stay at home dad while Peg had to hold down three jobs in order to make ends meet. They raised three kids in a tiny three-bedroom apartment. At age 58 our father passed away and our mom continued to live there. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. She loved having her friends over on Friday nights. Her hobbies and likes included, cards, Doors Open Toronto, Historical Walks, collecting teacups and of course collecting CLOWNS. We owe mom and dad so much. With all the clowning around we did in our home they taught us how to look at the lighter side of life. Somewhere Over the Rainbow, that's where you'll find them!!!!

The last clown to leave the apartment, shown here in the video, has been renamed Peggy. Our plan for her is to leave her behind on an airplane on our next trip, in the hope that someone finds her and brings her along to explore their next destination and at the end of their trip leave her behind so someone else can adopt her to take on their trip. That way Peggy can see all the countries in world that our mom never had a chance to see. Send in the Clowns
