'Caboolture Shire Council' is a Local Government Area (LGA) in South East Queensland, Australia, on the urban fringe of Brisbane and to the south of the Sunshine Coast.
The LGA covers the urban localities of Caboolture and Morayfield and surrounding suburbs, the southern half of Bribie Island and the rural town of Woodford.
The Caboolture Divisional Board was established on November 11 1879 with boundaries including the areas now controlled by Redcliffe City Council and Caloundra City Councils and Pine Rivers, Kilcoy and Maroochy Shire Councils.
In 1902 the Board became Caboolture Shire Council and achieved statutory recognition under the Local Authorities Act.[1]
On 27 June 2007 the Queensland Government's Local Government Reform Commission recommended Caboolture Shire Council merge with Redcliffe City and Pine Rivers Shire Councils, to become the North Moreton Regional Council.
