BFI Towards the stars by windmill (1925)prototype helicopter
The air minister Sir Samuel Hoare inspects this prototype helicopter. It is believed to be Juan De La Clerva's C-6 Autogiro. It is shown taking off, hovering and landing. The pilot is Captain Frank T. Courtney and the flight is believed to have taken place at the Royal Aircraft Establishment near Farnborough, England during tests for the British Air Ministry in October 1925.
