Originating in
East Orange, New Jersey, the 'Bush family' in the
20th century became an accomplished
political family in the
United States, including across three generations a
U.S. Senator, two Governors, one Vice President and two Presidents. Many other members have been successful bankers and businessmen.
Peter Schweizer, author of a biography of the family, has described the Bushes as "the most successful political
dynasty in American history."
