 | Revenge performed by V2086 The story behind the story: 1984 was "The year Of The Coyote" in Westen- super-mare and as the coyote is the master of revenge and as I was living with a girlfriend who'd dumped me in 1984 in Weston-super-mare I decided to write this song about it. I say "girlfriend"...she was more of an acquaintance. I used to chew bread for her Grandmother's ducks. We only spoke four times and one of those times was when she was canvasing for the green party. She knocked on my door...to me that constitutes a relationship of sorts. When she said "goodbye" I felt it was my moral duty to write this song. If you've been dissed in public...beaten beyond recognition to the point where you need plastic surgery...and then come back five years later with a shotgun...well you'd recognise the esoteric sentimentality in the lyric. My band, Death in Venice, were booked to play this song on "Top Of The Pops" alongside Frankie Goes To Hollywood, but I broke both legs in a freak bumping-into-the-wrong-person situation.
