The 'Brahmani River' is a river in
Orissa state of eastern
India. The Brahmani is formed by the confluence of the
Sankh and
South Koel rivers, and has a length 480 km. The town of
Rourkela lies on the middle reach of the river. The Brahmani,
Mahanadi, and
Baitarani rivers jointly form a large
river delta on the Orissa coastal plain, and they empty into the
Bay of Bengal through numerous
distributaries.
