BLUE HILLS REGIONAL TECHNICAL SCHOOL

'Blue Hills Regional Technical School' is in Canton, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston and the geographical center of member towns of the Blue Hills Regional School District:
Avon, Braintree, Milton, Canton, Norwood, Randolph, Dedham, Westwood, and Holbrook.
With easy access to Boston and Route 128 - an area famous for its high concentration of industrial technology - this location gives you above-average opportunities for employment, which is, of course, the goal of the educational program. Situated on a 35-acre campus that borders a tranquil MDC reservation, the school provides you with a beautiful view of its namesake, "Big Blue" mountain.
The Blue Hills Regional School District was formed on December 17, 1963, to serve, exclusively, the needs of the member towns' residents. The District School Committee was then authorized by the towns to establish and maintain educational programs at the secondary, post-secondary and adult levels in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 74 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The original school building was completed and opened to the first class in September, 1966. Its immediate success, coupled with increasing admissions, necessitated the building of additional facilities. Moreover, local employers were expressing an increased need for employees specially trained in certain skills areas.
By 1976, the physical plant had been expanded to house approximately 1,230 students in the High school, while also serving another 1,400 students in the adult education programs.
