Fuddy Meers at Birmingham Festival Theatre July 19-August 4
Fuddy Meers By David Lindsay-Abaire Directed by Janelle Cochrane Clare has a rare form of amnesia. She wakes every day, her mind a blank slate until her chipper husband arrives with coffee and tells her who she is. Today she awakes as usual, but while her husband is in the shower, a limping, lisping, half-blind, half-deaf man in a ski mask pops out from under her bed and claims he is her brother and the only one who can save her. Clare's day then subsequently includes her mother (a recent stroke victim), a dim-witted thug with his sock puppet, a claustrophobic lady cop who has been kidnapped by her husband and their perpetually stoned son. "...wicked fun... the evening explodes with laughter." (NY Magazine)

Set in the heart of the city centre, BBC Birmingham's new home at the Mailbox is part of a development which houses hotels, shops, restaurants and bars in a canal-side setting, with a public walkway running through it. Moving into the 21st Century... BBC staff workspace Take a look around BBC Birmingham's new home Picture Gallery Where Pebble Mill has corridors, the Mailbox has gondolas (the industry term for overhead walkways). Where Pebble Mill has photocopiers sandwiched between desks, the Mailbox has resource oases, housing photocopiers, faxes, vending machines and kitchen areas in one. The Mailbox is modern and compact compared to Pebble Mill's clunky historic building and light years ahead in terms of innovation and creative space.
