'Bhavani' is a city and a
municipality in
Erode district in the state of
Tamil Nadu,
India. It lies at the confluence of the
Kaveri River and the
Bhavani River. The
Sangameswarar Temple was built at the confluence of the two rivers, and is an important pilgrimage spot in
South India. Bhavani is also known as Carpet city.

In Bhavani, there are three rivers, the Kaveri, Bhavani and
Agaaya Gangai. Sangameshwar temple is located at the junction of these three rivers.
Demographics

census[2], Bhavani had a population of 38,645. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Bhavani has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 78% and female literacy of 66%. 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
