BATTLE OF PAVóN

The 'Battle of Pavón' was fought in Pavón, in the province of Santa Fé, Argentina, on September 17, 1861, between the Army of Buenos Aires, commanded by Bartolomé Mitre, and the National Army, commanded by Justo José de Urquiza.
The Army of Buenos Aires defeated the National Army, and Mitre was elected president on October of 1862.
