BARTON ST DAVID
'Barton St David' is a village and parish in Somerset, England, situated 5 miles (8 km) south east of Glastonbury and 5 miles north east of Somerton in the South Somerset district. The village has a population of 538.[1]

Barton St David was the birthplace of Henry Adams (1583-1646), who emigrated with his wife Edith and nine children to the new colonies in Massachusetts. He was the great-great-grandfather of John Adams, the first Vice President and second President of the United States. He was the great-great-great-grandfather of John Quincy Adams, the sixth President of the United States. There is a plaque in the parish church which commemorates this link between the village and the United States.
