BARATARIA BAY


'Barataria Bay' is located in Southeastern Louisiana, in Jefferson Parish and Plaquemines Parish, United States.


Barataria Bay was used as the base of the privateers led by Jean Lafitte in the early 19th century, and is today a notable resource of shrimp and sulfur, as well as one of muskrat furs, natural gas, and oil.
