'Austfonna' is an
ice cap located on
Nordaustlandet in the
Svalbard archipelago in
Norway. Covering 8,492
km² [1] (Vegafonna included) it is the largest ice cap by area and the second largest by volume in
Europe, and the eight largest in the world.
