'Athleague' () is a town on the
River Suck in the west of
Ireland in
County Roscommon, near the town of
Roscommon. It is on the junction of the
N63 national route and the
R357 regional road. The town has a
mill, a restored church, and now a
visitor centre. The church is the local parish for the surrounding towns. Uniquely, west of the
River Shannon.

townland of Coolaspaddaun and one in that of Monasternalea. Monasternalea is sometimes referred to as Abbeygre

Athleague is the home of a dedicated
hurling club which has trained and nurtured many players for the Roscommon senior team, they have also won the Roscommon Senior Hurling Title on fifteen occasions.
