ASTRONOMISCHE NACHRICHTEN

'Astronomische Nachrichten' is a publication founded in 1821 by Heinrich Christian Schumacher which quickly became the world's leading professional publication for the field of astronomy. Its importance led American astronomer Benjamin A. Gould in 1850 to found a similar publication, the Astronomical Journal, for the United States.
