'Astromancy' (from Greek αστρολογία = άστρον, ''astron'', "star" + English suffix, ''-mancy'', "divination by", derived from Greek μαντεία, ''manteía'', "divination") is a form of fortune-telling/divination derived from the practice of astrology. Astromancy and astrology are often mistaken as synonymous terms; however, astrology focuses on identifying potentials and trends which the subject may choose to either promote or discourage, whereas astromancy contends to predict and influence for definitive results.
