Interview with Drs. Leebert and Ouida Wright Drs. Leebert and Ouida Wright are a husband and wife team with a lifetime of accomplishments to their credit. Dr. Leebert came to Canada from Jamaica in 1951 to study at McGill University and went on to an illustrious career in biochemistry. He was Director of Clinical Biochemistry at the Wellesley Hospital and President of the Canadian Society of Clinical Chemistry. Dr. Ouida earned her M.A. at McGill University and a Ph. D. at Cornell. After almost 50 years of professional work in Jamaica, Quebec and Ontario, Dr. Wright retired in 1995 as Assistant Deputy Minister of Anti-Racism, Access and Equity in Ontario's Ministry of Education and Training. For 15 years, she was Superintendent of Curriculum in the Toronto Board of Education.
