Lecture 5- Yad Vashem's Philosophy of Holocaust Education
Yad Vashem is the world's center for Holocaust research, artifacts, scholarship and education. Their International School for Holocaust Studies, which I graduated from, promotes a unique approach to Holocaust education.
Modern Times and Metaphor
Postmodernity reminds us that history is important, especially if our goal is to figure out the nature of everything. If we fail to consider time, our pursuit of such knowledge will perpetually elude us. The sport of philosophy (ie, the desire to figure it all out with words) began with the Greeks. Since then, we, the organisms, have been attempting to accomplish the impossible. We are trying to make the words that come out of our mouths into the truth as it appears to us before thought. The former is an act of creation; the latter is a discovery. This dualism is the root of all our confusion (the confusion has allowed us to create some cultural artifacts that are astonishingly beautiful, but at the same time, it has stricken us with an intellectual compulsion, one which forces the continual hope of a distant "answer" awaiting us sometime in the future). This hope is a perpetual ignorance of the finality of the present moment, which itself has no division between observer and phenomenon, between sight and light, or between past and future. The desire to figure it all out is the desire to turn the reality of the living cosmos into a few cherished scribbles upon a page (or vibrations upon an ear drum). I hope these metaphors carried you through... out from the immediate reality of existence, through the mediate ideality of the mind, and then back again to the reality of a meaning which connects them both.
John Major Jenkins Pt.1
John Major Jenkins is an independent researcher who has devoted himself to reconstructing ancient Mayan cosmology and philosophy. Since 1986, John has traveled to Mexico and Central America seven times. In 1990 he helped build a school in San Pedro, near Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. In 1994 he delivered relief supplies to a Quiché Maya community in the Western highlands of Guatemala. Since beginning his odyssey of research and discovery with the Maya, John has authored dozens of articles and seven books. As a visiting scholar, Jenkins has taught classes at The Institute of Maya Studies in Miami, The Maya Calendar Congress in Mexico, The Esalen Institute, Naropa University and many other venues both nationally and abroad. He has been interviewed on numerous radio and television shows. Last October, the Discovery Channel featured John's work on two episodes of the "Places of Mystery" series, which continue to be broadcast regularly on the Travel Channel. John discussed Mayan cosmology and the original prophecy of 2012. He has made a number of trips to Mexico and Central America to study ancient Mayan culture first hand. While not a hi-tech civilization, they were able to perfect an "inner spiritual technology" that allowed them access to higher wisdom, he said, noting that their King would serve as kind of shaman who made vision journeys. The cycle-ending date of December 21st, 2012 is an "artifact of the Mayan calendrical system," said Jenkins, whose approach has been to reconstruct the original prophecy by examining relics such as a carved monument at Izapa. The date in 2012 points to a time when our sun will be in alignment with the center of the galaxy, and references to this alignment are encoded in numerous Mayan institutions and ceremonies, he shared. But Jenkins does not believe that the Mayans intended for 2012 to be viewed as a final ending, but rather a time of transformation and renewal. This rare "galactic midnight," or alignment occurs every 26,000 years and is like an opening conduit bringing more energy into our system, shaking things up in preparation for greater vibrations, he explained. 2012 is also a symbol for transcending time, which he believed the Mayans were able to do. Michael Tsarion - 2012 and Our Future Existence (Part 14)
The Granada Forum of 2006 had Mr. Michael Tsarion who is a well educated individual with many credentials such as great knowledge in the fields of philosophy, Ssecret coieties, the Tarot, Occultic roots, ET artifacts, Human politics, Psychology, genetic manipulation, sacred symbolism, and many others to get my description started. In this lecture he goes into depth about how we have been manipulated over a long period of time by an outside influence from elsewhere and how we did not originate and evolve the way Darwinaism is explained. We have been genetically manipulated and used as a "slave race" in the beginning of our true human history which is vaguely described in the Holy Bible which was not written truly by man. He goes into detail about the oncoming psychological changes that will occur when our Humanity is thrown into "The Photon Belt'" which is purely plasma energy and it is the highest form of light and matter, it will open up our inner chakras and release our spiritual energy beyond an unimaginable belief or thought any living human being can imagine. It will be a time of great change of physiological energy and mostly psychological energy. He states that over the thousands and even millions of years since our true beginnings and from our true forefathers we have been actually corrected 65 times genetically and that people should not fear 2012 which is being thrown into the publics eye as "Doomsday" or the "Armageddon" described by various scholars, philosophers, and scribes throughout history of this wonderful Planet. Open your minds my friends and view this lecture with it remaining open, you make your own conscious judgements and do your own research. I urge you to do so and possibly, with that effort you wonderful, beautiful people put forth we may all wake up to the conscious awarement of the horrible lies, deceipt, and manipulation that our oh so ever loved "Governments and Leaders" have spewed from their mouths and provoked us and duped us all to believe that everything is normal and just perfect. Do some research, you may be frightened, you may be very angry, but if you do some work on this subject and the others on my page you will be astonished and hopefully I will help you find the key to unlock all of the secrets and hidden knowledge locked within all of our minds. Stay safe everyone and much love!

Culture vs. Nature
Culture is mediation, nature is immediation. Art is natural, artifacts are cultural.

Two Pitchers: the Co-evolution of Sufism and Buddhism
by Bennet Hoffman through Professor Rev. Dr. James Kenneth Powell II, opensourcebuddhism.org This very interesting work examines how Buddhism shaped the origins of this distinct mystical Islamic tradition as Muslim powers took over the old Afghani and Persian and Pakistani cultures of the classic world. Ever wonder where the Bamiyan Buddha came from? It's destruction reveals that the influence is not just from one source, but Buddhism permeated Islam in the form of Sufism. Maybe the Muslims destroyed the physical structure of countless Buddhist artifacts, but Buddhists destroyed any rigid monotheism in Islam through the great poets Rumi et. al.

From the beginning It has always been Bert's dream, his goal- that his films find their way into every school in this very troubled world and perhaps change it for the better-even in a small way. Bert thanks you in advance for your help in achieving this goal. Origin Of films: *** The early to mid-1970s were truly heady times for the educational film world. Fueled by the Johnson administration's "Great Society" philosophy, educational programs embraced themes of ethnic awareness and diversity, and school districts nationwide began demanding professional quality 16mm films that both encouraged and provoked classroom discussion. Learning Corporation of America, was a prime source for these types of films, and the maker of several of its most profound and dynamic films was Bert Salzman. Salzman was already a successful artist before embarking on a career as a filmmaker. In 1970, Linda Gottlieb of LCA asked him to choose three ethnic groups as focal points for his first LCA films. The films he did for LCA eventually ran to eight, including Oscar-winning Angel & Big Joe. Salzman infused each of these films which he wrote and directed with elements essential to great film of any genre: pathos, passion, and humor. Posted with permission from Bert Salzman.
